Hello my lovely Magickal Unicorns,
Doesn't time fly when things go awry??!!??
Here it is near the end of September and I have not put anything up on YouTube or here since August.
Yes, I have been missing in Action - but there is a good reason for this absence....
My Darling Husband Paul, was taken ill in the first week of September. He had a fall outside on the concrete - because he didn't put the light on at 11.00pm at night and went to the outside freezer to get a loaf of bread - tripped over my rebounder and came crashing down onto the concrete. Everyone else was in bed, so we didn't know what had happened.
The next day his leg swelled up like a balloon, we thought it was from the impact of the hit and fall...but over the next week, his whole body swelled up with fluid. We went to the Doctor and he said he should go to hospital- but because the last time Paul was in hospital, it left him with PTSD, Paul didn't want to go there. So the Doctor put him on a diuretic to reduce the water, but sent him for a scan of his heart. Next minute they are ringing him up saying he should go to hospital straight away because his heart is failing.
Paul, anxiety ridden and still determined not to go, started investigating going to a Cardiologist of his choosing (instead of the one that was assigned by the hospital last time, and who was rude and would not listen to him at all). We found one just down the road from us, so we went there and they put him on heart medicine straight away - he has Atrial Fibrillation, his left ventricle is double the size, he has two leaking valves in his heart and the top part of his heart is going crazy whilst the bottom part is barely working.... hence to say, it is pretty scary!!
The cardiologist said that an ineffective heart usually reads around 55% - but Paul's was reading at 15%... If it got to 10%, they would declare that a dead heart.. so yeah, very scary. I thought that I was going to lose him for sure! I had many a sleepless night worrying about it.
He has been on the medication for just over a week now and the improvements are incredible. He has lost 10 kilo in fluid weight (even though there is more to come off), his blood pressure is good, his oxygen levels are good, his pulse is still a bit low, but his breathing has improved.
We are off to the Doctors this afternoon for another check up and results from last week's blood test (they have to do weekly blood tests to make sure the medications aren't causing issues with his kidneys and liver).
My work has kindly let me take the rest of my Long Service Leave (which I was saving for next year -HoHum!!!) to look after him, so I am not going back to work until 21st October.
Paul is not out of the woods yet, things could still go wrong, but we are hopeful that it will just be slow progress and he will regain his health, even if he has to take medications to maintain that.
I will give everyone a progress report when I can - but in the meantime, please send him your healing blessings and prayers for a healthy, happy and long life... thank you!! 🙏 😊
Blessings to you all until next time,
Annette )O( xxx❤️
